Test Usage

For detection of fetal cells in maternal circulation during pregnancy or post-delivery to guide anti-D Ig prophylaxis requirements.

Turnaround Time

The turnaround for this test is within 48 hours of receipt of sample. Repeat samples are sometimes requested in the cases of positive results.

Assayed By

In house for initial screen and estimation by acid elution technique.

Confirmation of positives by flow cytometry performed by NHS-BT, Filton, BS34 7QS
