3 x 1.8 ml or exceptionally, 1.3 mL tube but see below

Special Instructions

We require 3 x coag tubes if possible, for investigation of a new patient. Please contact the Coagulation Lab on 01392 402916 to discuss if unable to provide sufficient plasma. As with all coagulation tests these must be correctly filled from a clean venepuncture.

Factors affecting results

Haemolysed or clotted samples will be rejected. Samples should be received no later than 2 hours after collection as some Factors are labile. If unable to comply, suggest sending patient to our Phlebotomists.

  • FXII : 50 – 150 iu/dl
  • FXIII: Normal / Absent
  • vWF : Activity 50 – 150 iu/dl
  • vWF : Antigen 45 – 160 iu/dl
