EDTA Blood
12 hours post dose
ng/ml
The therapeutic range for Cyclosporin specimens collected at 12 hours post dose will depend on the clinical scenario in which it has been administered, consult local protocols.
Cyclosporin assays are performed on Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday.
Samples arriving in the laboratory by 10:00 will be assayed on the same day.
Specimens should be whole blood in EDTA containers. The half life of cyclosporin is between 6 and 8 hours, and samples should be taken to reflect the ‘trough’ levels, i.e. just before the next administration of the drug.
