GP Guidance

Microbiology e-consults made via ICE or emails via Microconsultants will be answered from 0900-1630 Monday-Friday. Consults made outside of these times will not receive a same day response.

Microbiology consults should contain the following information:

  • Summary: Presenting complaint, history of presenting complaint, duration of admission, abx given & duration, relevant results (microbiological & imaging etc).
  • Clinical impression
  • Clinical question for Microbiologist to answer

For clinically unwell patients requiring urgent advice contact the microbiology department on 2962 between  0900-1630

 

GP E-Consult (New)

GP consultation to Microbiology for clinical advice through ICE. This process will replace the Microconsultants email (except for patients without an NHS number) from 30th September 2024.
