Consults made outside of these times will not receive a same day response. Outside these hours an on-call service for urgent advice operates via the hospital switchboard for Registrars, Fellows and Consultants only.
Inpatient consultation to microbiology for clinical advice through Epic (RDUH Only). Calls for advice will be accepted from Registrars, Fellows and Consultants.
Consults should contain the following information:
For Outpatient queries, the Emergency Department or for clinically unwell patients requiring urgent advice contact the microbiology department on 2962 between 09:00-16:30.
GP consultation to Microbiology for clinical advice through ICE. This process will replace the Microconsultants email (except for patients without an NHS number) from 30th September 2024.
