To enumerate HPC cells in peripheral blood as a marker for stem cells, indicating whether or not peripheral blood stem cell harvest (PBSCH) should proceed.
Whole blood EDTA tube
260 uL
HPC testing is only performed in cases of pre-planned peripheral blood stem cell harvests.
Clotted or underfilled samples can not be tested.
An HPC count of ≥30 cells/μL indicates that PBSCH can proceed without requirement for a CD34 count.
An HPC count of <30 cells/μL indicates that confirmatory CD34 analysis is required prior to commencing PBSCH.
