The Blood Transfusion department provides a comprehensive diagnostic service to Mid and East Devon. The Department has accreditation with UKAS and is licensed by the MHRA. The department also maintains IBMS training status for Biomedical Scientists.
The laboratory is open for routine work everyday from 7:30am to 5:30pm with an out of hours service running for the rest of the time.

The Blood Transfusion Department provides a service for provision of blood components and products to patients within the RD&E as well as those in satellite renal units and the eastern Devon Community Hospitals. The department also processes blood grouping and antibody screening tests for out-patients, in-patients and antenatal patients.
The laboratory is located in room A204 on Level 2, Template A of the Wonford site.
