As from 23 February 2015 the Transfusion laboratory is simplifying the Transfusion sample timing requirements as follows:
A new sample less than 72 hours from time of transfusion is required for all cross match purposes.
This means that a sample taken on a Monday will be suitable for providing blood up to the end of Wednesday.
