Nucleic acid amplification assay (PCR) for the detection of Herpes simplex Virus 1 & 2 DNA.

To aid in the diagnosis of Herpes in genital and extra- genital sites.

Please note HSV PCR is also part of these other tests:

Genital / Mouth / Throat swab

Red topped Copan UTM swab

Green topped MWE Virocult swab

Blue topped Copan M swab (GUM patients ONLY)
