Collection Instructions:
Using the spoon attached to the blue lid of the collection container, we require 2 heaped scoops of faeces. It is important to ensure the container is never filled beyond half full.
Faecal elastase testing may be used in the diagnosis or exclusion of pancreatic exocrine insufficiency, which can be caused by chronic pancreatitis, cystic fibrosis, diabetes mellitus, cholelithiasis, ‘failure to thrive’, pancreatic cancer or papillary stenosis, for example.
