This is a specialised neuropathological investigation not offered at the Royal Devon & Exeter Hospital.
There is a neuropathology service at Derriford Hospital, Plymouth. It is best to send the patient to Plymouth for the biopsy.
Alternatively if the biopsy has to be undertaken at the RD&E please liaise directly with Plymouth Neuropathology Department and make your own arrangements for transporting the specimen fresh to Derriford.
